So, I did the vlog thing.

Have you heard about this?  You’re probably thinking yes, Pirate, I did one of those YEARS ago.  Well, whatever.  It’s new(ish) to me.  I don’t even know how long this list has been making the internet rounds.

I’m from North Carolina, as I’ve probably mentioned, I’ve lived here all of my life.  And, therefore; I sound “Southern”.  Don’t hold it against me, y’all.

You probably won’t believe that I have one of the least Southern accents of my family.  And since they haven’t done a vlog, you’ll just have to take my word for it.  I really want to film my Granny (my 85 year old Great-Grandmother) talking, maybe I can convince her to do this too.   For her though I’d want her to answer things like “What do you call the glass things on the walls of houses?” (“winder-lights”) and “What is the metal thing you cook beans in?” (“a kittle”) and “What is the electric thing that you use to clean the floors?” (a “sweeper”).  But I digress.

The group I did this for and shared it with first had two lists.  The second list was funny stuff and cuss words and I don’t want to post that here.  So sorry for the awkward ending, I’ve edited the video between lists.  That’s also why I say “round 1” at the beginning.

And in case you haven’t heard of it yet and want to do one too, (or in case you think my southern accent needs subtitles) here’s the words to say and questions to answer:

Say the following words:
Aunt, route, wash, oil, theater, iron, salmon, caramel, fire, water, sure, data, ruin, crayon, toilet, New Orleans, pecan, both, again, probably, spitting image, Alabama, lawyer, coupon, mayonnaise, syrup, pajamas, caught

And answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that curls into a ball when you touch it?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?

Here’s my vlog:

Now you do one, link me too it.  I love to hear people’s accents.  I think my accent is “normal”, so prove me wrong.
